PRESS RELEASE – India’s International Exhibition on Plastics – Packaging & Rubber (23rd – 25th July, 2015)
Vietnam Plastics Industry has been growing steadily in the last few years. At 4.25 million tonnes per annum, it is only next to Thailand in South East Asia and is likely to grow annually at 10-15 % in the coming years. This will require procuring new processing machines and replacing outdated machinery with high productive machines.
India’s growth in this sector over the last 25 years has been phenomenal. From a modest 50,000 tonnes per annum, India’s polymer consumption now stands at 16 million tonnes per annum and is expected to touch 20 million tonnes in 2020. This large growth has been possible mainly because of high productive machines, innovation and technology at affordable prices. This has helped in reducing import dependence and also helped a large number of entrepreneurs set up new plastics processing units in remote parts of India. Today, there are nearly 65000 plastics processing units in India generating employment for over 35 million people.
To further India-Vietnam cooperation in this sector, Enterprising Fairs India Private Limited, is collaborating with Vietnam Plastics Association and Vietnam Rubber Association. Plastics Vietnam – RUBEXPO Vietnam and COMPACK Vietnam will be organized in HCMC on July 23, 24 & 25, 2015. Through this exhibition Indian plastic industry can share its expertise and experiences with Vietnam Plastics Industry. Over 65 exhibitors from India, supported by Plastics Export Promotion Council (PLEXCONCIL) will display their technology, machines and materials to the local industry.
Besides participation from the Indian companies, a large contingent of exhibitors from Vietnam will also participate in the two exhibitions.
