From July 31st to August 1st, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation visited India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
During the two-day visit, PM Chinh met with key Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, Vice President and Chairman of the Indian Upper House (Rajya Sabha) Jagdeep Dhankhar and speaker of the Lok Sabha (lower house) Om Birla.

He also engaged with leaders of some Indian political parties and top business figures from companies such as Adani, ONGC, and HCL. Discussions focused on investment plans and opportunities in Vietnam as well as enhancing economic ties between the two countries.

The visit resulted in several agreements, including the adoption of the plan of action to implement their comprehensive strategic partnership in 2024-2028 and Vietnam’s accession to the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI). A Joint Statement was issued to strengthen the strategic partnership, and the Military Software Park in Nha Trang was inaugurated.
Additionally, 9 cooperation documents were signed in areas such as healthcare, justice, diplomacy, human resources training, agricultural science, broadcasting, tourism, culture and agriculture. Both countries’ businesses signed 10 agreements covering infrastructure, logistics, aviation, tourism, culture and pharmaceuticals.
The visit successfully produced specific and practical outcomes, advanced the Vietnam-India partnership, which concluded in the evening of August 1, 2024, when Prime Minister Chinh and the Vietnamese delegation departed New Delhi.
