(VEN) – Indian Business Chamber in Vietnam (INCHAM) held Diwali Gala 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City. The Gala night attracted more than 600 attendees including Indian community living in Vietnam, expats, and Vietnamese people.
Over the centuries, Diwali has become a national festival that’s not only enjoyed by Indian but also people all over the world who love the theme and entertainment.
In northern India, they celebrate the story of King Rama’s return to Ayodhya after he defeated Ravana by lighting rows of clay lamps. Southern India celebrates it as the day that Lord Krishna defeated the demon Narakasura. In western India, the festival marks the day that Lord Vishnu, the Preserver sent the demon King Bali to rule the nether world. In Eastern India, the day is rejoiced to celebrate when goddess Parvati took the form of goddess Kali to kill the demon Bakasura. The festival is celebrated as Kali Puja in this part of the country and Goddess Kali rightly takes center stage in all festivities.
Diwali Gala 2023 was attended by Indian Idol Salman Ali and his band, international DJ Donna, and dancers, making it an energetic, lively and entertaining evening.
Rajib Gupta, Chairman of INCHAM, said: “INCHAM Diwali Gala is more than just an event. It is a celebration of connection and friendship. As the annual flagship event of INCHAM, it brings together diverse communities to share in the joy and festivities of Diwali. It is a time for cultural exchange, strengthening bonds, and fostering a spirit of unity.”
On this occasion, INCHAM also donated a part of the proceeds to Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) for charity purpose.
